I am using PROCESSOR: 1.7 GHz Intel Core i5-8350U (Max Turbo Frequency: 3.6 GHz) 32 Gb ram, external 2TB ssd , after about 12 hrs or more server goes offline and has to be restarted in order to reconnect
What does “go offline” mean?
Do you lose networking connectivity? What does the router say? What do the logs say?
or
Does the server power off?
To be honest not sure what’s happening I normally access my serve remote over my home network, the server is connected by Ethernet directly to my router, I use a remote lap to connect to the server by clicking the save address I have on my browser, normally I get a pop up window asking to use https connection and click that link and my server comes up running ok, after say several hours running, and what to go to my server again a window pops up asking me to download your root CA and how to trust your root server ,
Which I have already done , so go to the actual server laptop and shut the laptop off and back on and then I’m able to access my server as I would normally do. Also the external ssd running the software has stop working too. Hope that make things a bit clearer, if not let me know, thanks
No, I’m afraid you’re adding information that muddies the water further.
Getting the Root CA warning, suggests you’re accessing a cached page, or that you didn’t trust the Root CA.
I’m still not clear what “goes offline” means. When you approached your physical server, it was apparently on and working if you were able to shut it down. When means the remote laptop was just having trouble connecting. With the server on and working, but the clients unable to connect, you’d follow this guide to resolve: Start9 | Common Issues
You say now that you’re running something from an external SSD? Is this the OS and the data drive? Or just the data? What does “stop working” mean? What is the current state of things? Does you server turn on?
The os and data all run on an external ssd drive the server shuts down not the laptop that the ext ssd is connected to , the ssd status/Activity blue light is off, if I power the laptop down and back on the ssd status light comes back and I can login the server from that laptop or from my other laptop remotely on the same local network. As I state earlier it my do fine for several hours up to at least 15 hrs, the I have to repeat the above steps,
You might try powering the drive with external power and then connecting it to the laptop. Maybe the laptop is not providing sufficient power
Ok will have to find a way to do that it a m.2 type ssd with an enclosure,
