Services .local web addresses not working

Hi.
I’m at my wit’s end. I’m hoping someone can help.

I installed StartOS on top of Proxmox 8.3.3 because I couldn’t install StartOS on the
bare metal Cybergeek Nano J1 even though it was listed as an approved device.

Now, I got:
* StartOS installed,
* services installed and synced (bitcoin core, electrs, mempool),
* passed all the health checks,
* downloaded and trusted the Root CA,
* installed Bonjour on my desktop (i’m using windows 10)
* I can connect to the adjective.local address to login to my StartOS
* both my desktop and the Cybergeek Nano J1, where Proxmox and StartOS are installed, are both on the same switch
* on my router, I can see both the cybergeek (proxmox) ip and StartOS ip but not any of the services.
* I’ve also tried accessing the services .local address from different machines and browsers, and still doesn’t work.
* I’ve tried rebooting each point of failure.

What else can I do to make the .local address of the services I’ve installed work?

Thank you in advance!
Mark

Solved. I disabled the VPN but before to see if that works, but this time, I restarted mempool and it now works.

Hopefully, this helps someone else. Turn off your VPN and don’t forget to restart the mempool service.

Thanks all.

Restarting the mempool service isn’t really necessary, but yes, if you install software on your client machine that can block access to your local network, you’d need to disable it or configure it.

Most VPN software from most providers have options to allow LAN passthrough so you can keep them connected.
