G’day All,
I have installed Bitcoin Knots (working), Core Lightning (working), Mempool (woprking), Datum Gateway and electrs. I have deposited Sats in the Lightning Wallet and I am connected to a mining node. I have downloaded Sparrow Wallet and am trying to set it up, but when click on the SW UI, I get a sign-in box requiring a Username and Password that I cannot get past, no matter which combination of UN and PW I use. Will appreciate some advice.
Thanks

Got through this issue and should be OK now. Cheers.

Ideally you’d explain the confusion you had and what you did to fix the issue, that way the experience is useful to others reading this thread.

The old story of when all else fails, RTFM. In this case, RTFMP - read the flippen manual properly.

I’ve hit another roadblock and this time really need advice.
I was working through the video of Paul Lamb to set my system up for BTC mining on Ocean when things fell apart while going through the proxy steps in Windows PowerShell (due to not being able to copy the text in the Datum instructions and having to type them and unknowingly missing a character in the long text string). I now have a situation that all the services on Start9 have been turned off and I cannot log into Start9. When I try to log in, using the password that I had introduced and recorded, the login fails and there is a message in red that reads: RPC ERROR: Database Error error communicating with database: No such file or directory (os error 2). I do not have the know-how to get myself out of this hole and will appreciate advice. Thanks.
OK, I was hoping for something that could help others, even if a common mistake or something skipped over or needs to be explained better.
Sounds like you need to reflash while choosing to use the existing drive to preserve data. If it keeps happening, your hardware is bad.
Just a case of not taking note of the steps to follow in setting it up. I cannot remember the specifics, but when I saw that I missed the last step, that solved the problem.
Thanks mate. I was hoping it would not be having to reflash. The hardware is Microsoft Surface, so I cannot disregard poor hardware quality either. This statement is based in personal experience of having had two replacements within the warranty period. I have an external 2Tb drive on the USBC port for the blockchain database, so will that be wiped as well, or will the data be preserved?
I answered in the previous response. When you finished installing StartOS from the USB, you’d go through this process to preserve data: Start9 | Use an Existing Data Drive
Thanks for that, I needed that extra bit with the link. Glad I waited because I would probably have messed this up.
