And are there similar lights on the router? and are both sets of lights blinking?
Regular erratic blinking would suggest a working and in-use connection, whereas no activity takes us to the final step.

All lights are blinking. I took out the cable from Eth 1 and put it into Eth 3. It works fine. I put Start9 into Eth 1 and the lights are blinking at both ends of the cable but it doesn’t show up on the Livebox schematic. It looks as though Start 9 is working but is not sending an identity message to Livebox.
There’s no such thing as an identity message.
There’s only one further suggestion I can make the prove or disprove there’s anything wrong with the server: You’re going to have to connect a monitor and see what is being displayed. This can also be a TV. The only way that remains where the server can be at fault is if it’s in some semi booted state, something I don’t think I’ve ever seen before. If you can see a Start9 logo and login screen, then the server is fine.
Alternative parallel tests:
At this point it’s looking like the server is fine though, which leaves the router and me guessing about its configuration.
L shall try what you suggest but of course you’ll will say it;s not Star9 fault. You sound like you want to blame something else. I’m at the point where I think the Start 9 product is not worth having. Too much complication. I shal just go to multiple Tangems and forget thinking about nodes until they are really plug and play.
On the contrary, I’d be happy to say it is Start9’s fault – if it actually is, since then we’d have an immediate solution! Only when it’s not Start9’s fault do things become long-winded and complicated. You’re free to complain, but we can only solve problems with the device. If there are no problems with the device (there may yet be) and this can be proven, then what would you like me to do exactly? Would you like further help?
So what do you suggest now that doesn’t need a cpmputer science degree?
I’d still go with the steps I suggested earlier: START9 Frustration - #23 by StuPleb
OK. You win. I give up. Start9 is going in the dustbin.
can you reach other devices on your home network?
Yes. As you can see from a previous schematic
I have unhappily come to the conclusion that the cost-benefit analysis of Start9 doesn’t add up especially if you mostly just hodl Bitcoin. When you consider the cost and the time that can be spent judging by the list in the help section of the things that can go wrong it’s not worth the frustration. If like me you only login to Start9 occasionally it’s very disconcerting to find you cannot login and then have to spend a lot of time with someone from Start9 doing an investigation.
Are you saying that you don’t have a monitor to connect?
You’ve actively refused to cooperate or follow instructions. I believe you arrived at this conclusion long before you asked for help. You have boundless energy to post critical messages discouraging others (from a free open source operating system), yet you show no real interest in arriving at a solution.
I have no record of any purchase of a server by anyone with your name or email address, but if you are a customer, please feel free to get additional support from:
start9.me or emailing me at stu@start9.com
And we can discuss if a refund is an appropriate solution.
