I have the above system as spare. Intend to run Start9OS and be using Nextcloud.
I have m.2 2280 256gb SSD, 500gb SATA SSD and an external 1TB Samsung SSD. The intention is to assign the 1TB SSD to Nextcloud and the 500gb SSD to Jellyfin for media. The 256gb would be for OS.
How Start9OS fit my needs above? Any idea how I should proceed?

In StartOS you can not run multiple drives, multiple partitions then assign different services to use each one. At least not yet. Until such a feature exists, you’re limited to one drive for data, and one small drive (or partition) for the OS.
I’m not sure how/why you’re trying to segregate Jellyfin from Nextcloud when most likely your Jellyfin data would sit in Nextcloud.
I’d recommend against external USB drives generally.
Well noted. I thought Nextcloud is purely a file storage.
How about installing Start9OS on Proxmox and running Nextcloud?
How about it? That would result in your running Nextcloud all the same.
