Startos alpha 19

Hi, I downloaded alpha-19 iso 2 weeks ago and was about to try it today, looked on github for a possible new version, and found that iso assets disappeared for both 18 and 19 releases. Is there an issue with these last 2 releases ?

What hardware were you looking to download for? If the iso is not available for your specific hardware then it means it hasn’t been built yet or some incompatibilities might have been found that caused errors. Such is the nature of alpha releases as they are on the edge. IF you were running a RasPi install then there is probably still soem work to be done on that image to make it more stable.

Thanks for your answer, I have downloaded startos-0.4.0-alpha.19-58e0b16~dev_x86_64-nonfree.iso when it was available on github 2 weeks ago. Now it has disappeared along with all other ISOs for all hardware, for alpha 19 and alpha 18, although checksums are still listed. Hence my question, is it ok to install alpha19 or is there an issue ? I didn’t find related topics here or tickets on github

Check the top and not the bottom (ISO assets are no longer hosted on github):

But it’s probably worth waiting for alpha.20 – it’s a huge update that changes everything and all packages use a newer, incompatible w/ a19 sdk.

I am running alpha 19 (and have been for a while) - you should be fine to run it. It is still alpha software so all the usual disclaimers apply. And things will be changing some with Alpha 20 so don’t think 19 is final.

As for downloading from github - I tried it just now and didn’t have an issue. Just log in and go to the releases section of StartOS. I did just now and I see:

Ah ok, sorry I didn’t notice the change of location for the ISO links in the release, was used to find them in the assets links with the rest of the files. Pretty sure it was still in assets when I downloaded it 2 weeks ago, but as you show in the screenshot it is quite visible, don’t know how I could miss it. Thanks for your answers and sorry for the trouble
