StartOS clock and initial block download

2 issues I’m having.

1 is my clock time is not the correct time. It says gmt time but I’m in pacfific standard time. How do I fix that?

2 my syncing keeps stopping when I exit the browser. For example if i open my start url on my phone on laptop, I have to leave it open for the initial sync to continue. As soon as I close it stops, I verified a couple
Times to check the current block and it keeps doing this. Maybe it has something to do with problem 1?

  1. You don’t. StartOS runs on UTC time. It doesn’t care about time zones.

  2. Start with Schrödinger Equation, and then apply the Heisenberg Uncertainty Principle. This will all make perfect sense.

Just kidding. The observers effect is not applicable here. What happens on the server is not dependent on the browser observing the progress. What you are likely seeing is browser cache data, rather than current data, making it appear that no progress was made while you were away. You can clear the browser cache, or do a hard refresh of the page. But I assure you, Bitcoin is making progress in the background whether you’re browser is observing it or not. One thing to take note of, the first 50 - 75% will take only a few days. The last 25% may take much longer. This is normal.
