StartOS repo moved to start-technologies: is StartWRT separate from StartOS updates?

Hi everyone, I have a question about the recent repository changes.

I currently have StartOS 0.4.0-beta.9 installed, but when checking the GitHub repo at Start9Labs/start-technologies, I noticed the structure seems to have changed. I no longer see StartOS at the repo root, and the latest visible release appears to be start-wrt/v0.1.0-beta.4.

From what I can tell, StartOS may now live under projects/start-os/, while StartWRT is a separate router-related product under projects/start-wrt/.

Can someone confirm what changed?

Specifically:

  • Is v0.4.0-beta.9 still the correct StartOS release path?

  • Are future StartOS releases still going to use the normal v0.4.x tags, or will they use a product-prefixed format like start-os/v...?

  • Is start-wrt/v0.1.0-beta.4 unrelated to StartOS server updates?

  • For someone already running StartOS 0.4.0-beta.9, is there any migration needed because of the repo reorganization, or is this only a source/build layout change?

I just want to make sure I do not accidentally follow the StartWRT update path when I should stay on the StartOS path.

Thanks.

You summarized the changes.

Yes.

Start-WRT is a Router OS.

Git repositories are for source code, not for general users of compiled software.

You couldn’t, there’s no update path, these are completely different things.

The monrepo is something that only concerns Start9 and any contributing developers.
