Hi,
I have been listening to most of the podcasts where Matt was on the last years and have heard him talking about the new router (and cameras) Start9 is working on in the background.
The first product which was shared via link was a router which was similar or equal to the Protectli Vault V1210 – Intel N5105. At that time I needed a router anyway and I bought that device already to be ready when StartWrt comes out.
In March a new product was shown which is a StartWrt router based on a RISC-V chip and more open-source than the Protectli vault, which is great. As far as I know it is similar to the Banana Pi BPI-F3.
That articles announced the new router and also has a link to support the project and buy the router (link below), but sadly that does not work anymore.
The buy link (not working): btcpay.start9.com
Ok with all this info,
What is the current state of the StartWrt software and hardware? Is it still planned and in the works? (I saw some releases on Github)
Does the Startwrt software run on other devices like a Protectli or Glinet?
Is it already ready and secure enough to use in ones own home network? properly tested via LLMs?
Is this the best place to ask these kind of questions or should I ask them somewhere else?
Thanks for all the info you can share about the topic! ![]()
