My sync is at 95.2% and is timing out every minute or so. It was also doing this at earlier points of the sync but is less of an issue. Non pruned bitcoin knots, allocated 8gb ram to knots on a pc with 16gb ram. Using the non free iso and installed it on sata ssd on my pc tower. Was planning to get start os and sync knots and then transfer the ssd to an older laptop once it’s all synced up, but I keep getting this timed out. Any tips? My pc did actually kind of “shutoff” the keyboard won’t wake up the screen, but I can access the web gui from another laptop and it’s been like this since 70%, so I don’t want to restart the pc just for the screen, but maybe it’s the screen/power issue that’s causing this, I don’t know.
Hey,
“Timed out, retrying soon” can be caused by different reasons while syncing ; network latency, power outages for example… I would recommend you checking the logs. Since it seems to be syncing, there is probably nothing wrong but It wont hurt checking them if you want to be sure there are no errors on the process.
Also, if you want you can reboot your computer, the sync will catch up to where it was before the booting.
In all likelihood it’s the low amount of RAM you assigned.
I let it go and finally finished ! I have another issue now though. I have both greeen checks. But every few minutes while a next block is trying to be found the bottom green check turns to the yellow timed out retrying soon for a few minutes and then the block is complete, it goes away for a few minutes and come back again. This cycle just keeps happening. Is that normal for the yellow timed out retrying soon notfication to keep happening during every new block? The top always stays green though. RPC success: the rpc server is ready for connections.
Think I solved it, I was using brave browser and had blockers on. Turned them off and it seems to stay synced with green check mark. Hopefully I can solve this next issue but now my problem is no apps will open. When I open the web ui for datum or public pool I get a page that says this site can’t be reached. Any help would be appreciated!
You need to be opening the interfaces form another device on your network, and you need to have completed the guide found here: Start9 | Trusting Your Root CA
