Proud New Server about a week ago & so far only installed Knots/110, Electrum & Datum Gateway. Just finished inputting all the SSh command line inputs necessary for Datum to install and run the Simple Proxy, but after the inputs were completed the terminal was giving some error messages (I have screenshots) and the server didn’t restart afterwards as I thought it should. I then checked the Datum gateway service within start9 and it was showing that it wasn’t running properly (I 'd been still logged into my server all the time), but after I clicked on the Datum Gateway GUI tab to see what was happening there it opened up in another page and since then I haven’t been able to log back into my start9.
I’d try just switching it off and back on again to see if that sorted it but maybe thought it best to try check here first if anyone’s any advice. Included an attachment of failed login attempt, and also some of the error messages after trying the Simple Proxy install (if they’ll upload for me)…any help most welcome
Hey, thanks for reply and I’ve tried that in the meantime but no change, also can’t access it by IP address and my modem now doesn’t see it anymore anyway. I also tried to SSH into the server again but it just tells me that the connection has been reset for that IP address. I’ve just gotten a first response back from Start9 and it looks like it might entail flashing the OS from new but I’ll check in with them again before I try that as if at all possible I’d like to avoid all that hassle
Oh thanks for info, am totally new here. I’d gotten an email from Stuart with some links to flashing as well. I’m not even sure if I shouldn’t be contacting you through the private support server route instead since I’ve just purchased my Start9 Pure from you …let me know if that’s the preferred way thanks
I’d definitely use the private support since it comes with your Server purchase.
Stuart is in those server chat rooms as am I and a few others. Comes with not having to worry about scammers or spammers and also being able to have Support help you a lot faster than the forum, as this is more community based, which is also a great resource.
If it’s a recent order, you were instead sent an email with an “Access Code”. You’ll need to find that email. Otherwise the redemption code should of come with the server in the box if it’s an older model.
Thanks, yes it was a recent order and I found it in the email ok, BUT have just registered onto the private server which I prefer ..BUT when I try accessing per laptop browser (Firefox) I get…
Your browser can’t run Element,
and when I try from phone (Duck Duck Go) it also says "start9 support chat does not support this browser. The phone is waaaaay too small a medium for me to do any sort of troubleshooting on anyway etc …any hints or tips here?, thanks (Btw I also sent this to Stuart per email, “Note to Self” I must settle on just ONE of ye LOL
Problem Finally Sorted. Followed Instructions from Server Support to download & flash Start9 OS and am back in again with zero data loss …Success! As a Tip for those using older Windows OS versions…to execute the Flash I needed to first search for an older compatible version of the recommended “BalenaEtcher” s/w before I could install it …and same with “Element” which was needed to access the Private Support Server.
Now I have to take a breather before I attempt my 2nd try at SSHing into the Server to install that Simple Proxy necessary for Datum and hopefully this time will go better (had big problems copy/pasting some of the code and I also saw another poster here with the same problem …will update!
To finish this particular tale off here, I finally got the code for installing Simple Proxy correctly Copy/pasted through SSh into my server to finally get Datum Gateway and my Bitaxe running properly. The whole proceedure was tough enough to be honest and was always just one problem leading to the next, but would have been a lot more difficult & frustrating if I didn’t have the constant help from the Start9 support server guys, definitely glad I bought the server from them even already lol, was Great Support!
