Wanting to install Bitcoin Knots

Hi everyone

I’m wanting to install bitcoin knots on my Start9 and have followed the instructions on this forum. clicking ‘manage’ more than five times and then reinstalling Knots, however Knots isn’t available through the registry on my Start9.

Will it appear once i’ve downloaded Knots from their website?

thanks

The Bitcoin Knots package is not maintained by Start9. Therefor it’s not in the Start9 Registry. You can find it in the Community Registry, maintained by a community member.

Thanks Rexter

Sorry, a poorly worded message from me. i’m downloading Knots from the community registry but can’t see where i select ‘reinstall’ to then have Knots replace Core.

ive clicked ‘manage’ more than 5 times and am in dev mode but still can’t see anything. i’m sure i’m missing something obvious.

can you suggest where i can look?

After you enable dev tools, this is what you see when you click on Bitcoin Knots in the Community Registry. That is, if you already have the same version of Bitcoin Core installed. If you don’t have Bitcoin Core installed, you’ll just install Knots. If you have Bitcoin core installed, but an older version, you’ll see Update, rather than reinstall.

hi again Rexter - i really appreciate your help. this is what i see when going to the community registry:

this is the URL: Start9 Marketplace

am i on the wrong webpage?

sorry for the multiple messages - i’m downloading Knots from the website (.org) and is currently downloading the block history. 4 hours to go to finish this.

I was speaking of accessing the Community Registry from the Marketplace menu, on your StartOS server’s admin dash. You’re simply looking at the registry website from a browser.

This sounds like you downloaded Bitcoin Knots from another website, and installed it on your local machine.

Please tell me about your StartOS server. What model it is, and what version of StartOS?

hi again - thanks for your continued help. i’ve worked out what i was doing wrong and can see you can swap between the registries within Start9.

now all fixed! cheers
