What do I do if LND + electrs are stuck and 0% download trying to update?

Connectivity works because my Start9 is LAN cable connected and I am able to login to it.

My Start9 is stuck trying to update LND and electrs. DO I have to reinstall my entire Start9? Is there a way to recover this? I don’t want to download the whole blockchain again because of limited internet monthly bandwidth.

Ok, it finally resolved itself.

I had to restart my Start9 about 10 times, over a 12+ hour period and it finally got the latest Start9 update and that seems to have fixed things.

A simple restart should fix this, but a UI restart may get stuck, so make sure to shut down and remove power to ensure the full reboot. In a worst case scenario, a System Rebuild may sometimes be in order.

I too, am having this issue - 12 times you say!? I’m on #3

:crying_cat_face:

I did a system rebuild and LND now running, but other services eg. Launching RTL and Thunderhub are not finding server - how do I fix?

What errors are helth check showing on RTL and TH? Anything in the logs? You can post error screenshot.

No data in the server logs

and this error msg when I launch UI for RTL

Hmm. We’re having trouble finding that site.

We can’t connect to the server at xxxx…xxxx.local.

@SaltyKate - Several things to try.

  1. Try accessing from a different device.
  2. Confirm you have trusted your root CA properly. Start9 | Trusting Your Root CA
  3. Uninstall, then re-install RTL

Thank you Jesse :orange_heart:

Success on access to .local on diff device (mobile for the first time which gave me opportunity to add cert on mobile) so this is a good sign

Previously have successfully connected over Tor (not .local) - what is different, is that I recently connected monitor to nodebox and was having issue connecting to services; namely RTL and TH - next step is to troubleshoot the root cert on that device
(will update when resolved)

Thanks again for posting your suggestions

OK Verified that root cert installed correctly on device and web UI health check says satisfied and I try to launch RTL and still site cannot be reached.

following is log:
no connect rtl

that previous screenshot is Thunderhub and following is the RTL log

Launching the UI as per instruction still results in cannot reach server error

  1. What hardware are you using?
  2. Do you have green health checks for LND (or CLN if you are using that)
  3. Have you tried restarting the system?
  4. Are you able to connect to your server and run other services normally?
  5. If so are you connecting via .local or .onion?
  1. Dell Optiplex 9020 ultra sff with 1TB ssd (stripped down and cleaned today)
  2. Yes to green health check for LND
  3. Yes to restart (several time, and a system rebuild)
  4. Can connect to .local server via mobile OS only and services function as expected
  5. RE: .local Server not found for all services on .local from direct connect from Optiplex AND other devices, separate desktop and laptop (root cert has been added to all)
RE: .onion success *generally * successful *when connection does not time out

Hi SalyKate.

After summarizing all this, I think you’re experiencing difficulty resolving your mDNS aliases on your client device that connects to the StartOS server. To troubleshoot this issue, please answer the following questions:

  1. Dose any other services .local interfaces work?
  2. When using mobile device were you able to use RTL or TB?
  3. What OS is your client that you cant connect from?
