Your Connection To This Site Is Not Secure

I’ve never had an issue with my Start9 server before but this morning my Macbook restarted with Apple Intelligence installed. I have disabled this but my browser was stuck on “Connecting” to my Start9 server. I tried hard resetting the browser, deleting the cache for the last day, rebooting the Mac and restarting the Start9 server by using the power button. Now when I try to access the Start9 server the browser is telling me the site is not secure. I don’t want to allow access in case there is a risk in doing so.

I checked my keychain access as I remembered adding a certificate for the server. This certificate is showing as trusted and does not expire for another 9 years.

Not sure what else I can do at this stage. Seems odd that Apple Intelligence is installed and then the Start9 server is now not secure to access. BTW I’m using Chrome.

Any advice?

EDIT: I have managed to connect via Safari. Still can’t connect via Chrome even when I change the settings to allow insecure sites for my .local domain.

Thanks.

Hi Sniggy!
Welcome to the sovereign computing community!

It looks like macOS may have broken something—it’s not uncommon.

  1. First, check if Chrome has network access enabled in:
System Settings > Privacy & Security > Local Network
  2. Then, make sure Chrome is configured correctly by following our guide.

Let me know if you need more help!

Hi h0mer,

I believe the certificate is all good. It is in my list of local certificates and Chrome has network access enabled. I can use Safari ok so at least I can access the server and it is running fine. Just seems like Chrome has an issue. I guess I could remove the certificate and download again but as Safari is working I’m fine with that. If Safari breaks I may be back here!

Cheers,

Sniggy
