Hi Starters,
I finally have StartOS + Bitcoin Knots + electrs running in a VM. (32gb, 2gb nvme, 16 cores) Fast and stable.
Now I installed BTCPay. I can reach the BTCPay admin page via the tor address. (not via the .local address)
But, I want to make BTCPay available via clearnet.
The VM system has only a single IP and has a webserver with nginx proxymanager as well.
I read somewhere that clearnet will become available in the future… And I didn’t see any usable options in the BTCPay config…
Is there a way I can connect the BTCPay server to my NPM now in order to use it via clearnet?
Thanks for listening…
BTCPay’s docs have guides for proxying to obtain some amount of clearnet (https://docs.btcpayserver.org/) but if you’re saying you set up your VM and host machine to share an IP, that’s probably a bad idea and I don’t know what additional problems you’d face.
For proxying via Tor, I have this guide: Guide: Bolt cards, Lightning Address and Reverse Proxy all the things
And yes, in the future this will be easier and pointy-clicky.
Me very very pointy-clicky…
Do you know the port nr BTCpay listens to for http, locally, if there is any?
Ow, sharing an IP and NPM in front works nicely…
There are no exposed ports, just mDNS .locals, until the next version of StartOS.
Ah, thanks… (Just ran a port scanner, just 22,80,443 and 9050)
