Clock sync failure

Hi MaxT. Welcome to the future!

To fix the “Clock sync failure” issue on your StartOS dashboard, focus on your router’s configuration as follows:

  1. Ensure NTP Traffic is Allowed:

    • Verify that UDP port 123 (used by NTP) is not blocked by your router’s firewall. Check the firewall settings and create a rule to allow outbound traffic on this port.
  2. Check DNS Configuration:

    • Confirm that OpenDNS servers (208.67.222.222 and 208.67.220.220) are correctly set in your router’s DNS settings.
    • Flush the DNS cache on your router to ensure the new DNS settings are applied.
  3. Verify Router’s NTP Settings:

    • Some routers use their own NTP servers for time synchronization. Ensure the router is configured to use a reliable NTP server, such as pool.ntp.org or time.nist.gov.
    • If your router allows it, manually add an NTP server in its settings.
  4. ISP Restrictions:

    • If your ISP blocks UDP port 123, you may need to use a workaround like NAT translation or contact your ISP.

After making these changes, restart your router and check if the Start9 dashboard error resolves. If the issue persists, consult your router’s documentation or contact your ISP for further troubleshooting.
