Diagnostics Mode - cannot boot with freshly flashed SSD

Howdy folks, first time long time.

I’m in the process of (buffoonishly) trying to upgrade the storage on my BTC Node. Stock 1TB SSD hit capacity, and upon firing it up, I was met with the Docket Error; No room left on device error. Followed instructions on this thread ("Docker Error"... "No space left on device" - #2 by Rick) and, having not set up SSH prior to hitting capacity, realized I had to set up a fresh copy of StartOS on a new drive and migrate data from old drive afterwards.

However, having used BalenaEtcher to flash StartOS onto a totally blank 2TB SSD, and having installed it in my GMK Mini pc, I’m now being met with a ‘StartOS; Diagnostics Mode’ any time I try to access start.local - diagnostics page gives me no further info, only those three words.

Where have I gone wrong? Do I need to flash from a usb onto the blank drive instead? Does the flashing process rely on the SSD having a Windows/Mac/Linux OS on it before the flashing process from an external drive? Or is it something more simple?

Let me know your thoughts - really eager to get my server back up and running again, especially with BIP110 on the way.

Cheers!

You want to follow this guide in order to upgrade to a new drive and still keep all your data:

Are you saying you flashed the ISO directly to the 2TB drive? If so, that’s where things have gone wrong. You need to flash the ISO to an empty USB drive, and then boot your server from that to install the OS on your server. If you want to transfer from the previous 1TB drive, you’ll need a way to connect it to the server during the install process. You’ll use the “transfer data” recovery option.
