Status Update on StartOS v0.3.6 Stable Release

Hi Start9 team and community,

Is there an updated timeline for when the stable v0.3.6 release will be available?

I asked about this back in March, but the thread was closed in June. A quick update on the current status would be greatly appreciated.

I’m still running v0.3.5~1 and need the improvements in v0.3.6 to run multiple services on separate ports within my LAN. Without this, I’m stuck using some messy workarounds.

Hoping the upgrade will be possible in the near future.

Many thanks in advance!

Considering it’s a rewrite of the entire OS, frontend and back, we’ve now skipped to v0.4.0, no half measures.

Part of that is a new networking setup that allows for IP:PORT configuration of services, as well as port forwarding, private VPN access, VPS proxying, domain management via a concept of virtual gateways

It’s underway, now almost entirely complete baring a fix or two, and is being released for public beta testing imminently.

Thanks a lot for the detailed update!

Sounds like an exciting release is on the horizon - really great to hear about the complete rewrite and the powerful new networking features. Looks like the whole team has been working incredibly hard on this.

I’m definitely looking forward to the upcoming beta and the stable release that follows. Keep up the awesome work! :rocket:
