Unexpected shutdown: RPC ERROR- Error job for postgresql@15-main.service failed

Was happily running a DIY build until my start9 unit suffered an unexpected shutdown as a result of a power outage. Could not boot up so I had to boot from a flashed USB and recover from existing disk. The boot process from USB and recovery ran smoothly until eventually interrupted by the following error:

Error
RPC ERROR: Database Error Job for postgresql@15-main.service failed because the service did not take the steps required by its unit configuration. See “systemctl status posgresql@15-main.service” for details.

I’m running a DIY build off a Intel NUC11ATKC200 with RAM maxed out. Prior to the shutdown it was running the latest stable release and everything was running smoothly.

Has anyone else experienced anything similar and successfully recovered? My primary concern is the Vaultwarden which I can’t access now and which had all my passwords to my various accounts.

Any assistance or guidance will be appreciated. Heads up: I’m not a linux or server boff by any means so explanations and steps suitably “dumbed down” will be most welcomed.

I have a process for this, but it requires a special build of StartOS since your system won’t boot far enough to give you shell access.

You’ll have to email support@start9.com

Thank you very much for your reply StuPleb. I’ll email Start9 support and hopefully someone can assist. I’m a bit stressed as all my passwords are saved in locally hosted Vaultwarden and since I can’t get into my server, I can gain access to them.

You definitely don’t want to be running important services without taking proper precautions… i.e. regular backups and a UPS.
